Crayons Before We Dine

My boy Zoran and I like to draw while we’re waiting for our food at restaurants. Usually we come up with pretty different things. He tends more toward the monsters, the dragons, the weapon-riddled Star Wars clones. I, on the other hand…well…you know. Pretty girls in pretty dresses.

One night as awaited our Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer at Cafe Lotus, however, Zoran attempted a still life. I was highly impressed by the results.

This is the good stuff. I could see this turning into a series….does the type of food influence the crayons?

Some restaurants don’t offer the crayons, and then we have to resort to digging through my bag for random pens, highlighters, lipstick, what have you. I find that breweries and Mexican restaurants provide the best crayon options.

    Hi Naomi!

The girls and I love to draw on napkins, menus and whatever we have while waiting for our meal. Our drawings also often end up being girls in cute dresses or funny versions of a portrait of each other. Love your magazine!

Hi Renee! Thanks for your wonderful support! Nothing better than a quick sketch while waiting for the food to arrive… :) Hope all is well with you and your lovely family! Hope to see you soon!
